Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2027

The city's biggest party returns from 22 January to 28 February 2027, with Music as its theme.

The Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2027 runs from 22 January to 28 February and is dedicated to Music. The city council has reshuffled the calendar: the Queen Gala moves to Monday 8 February, the eve of Shrove Tuesday, the Drag Queen Gala is on Friday 19 February (preselection on Friday 12) and the Grand Parade crosses the city on Saturday 20 February.

In between come the murgas, comparsas and troupe contests, the daytime carnival, the dog carnival and the Burial of the Sardine that closes the festivities. Ticketed events (galas and contests) are sold on the official carnival website; the open-air mogollones street parties and the parade are free. Street events are mostly around Parque de Santa Catalina and Vegueta, and most start late: dinner first, then the party. This page adds the detailed programme as it is published; meanwhile see what to do this weekend.
